RACAS Mobile

Field infrastructure software built for crews who need to capture trustworthy data with poor connectivity, rugged devices and no patience for fragile workflows.

The problem

Infrastructure inspection does not happen in a clean office.

Crews work across long road networks, footpaths and remote sites. Connectivity changes, imagery is heavy, GPS quality matters and data must remain traceable when it reaches engineers and asset teams.

RACAS Mobile supports practical inspection workflows that keep working offline, preserve local field data and synchronise reliably when a connection becomes available.

My contribution

Ownership across application, data and deployment.

  • Architecture and development across .NET MAUI and Flutter field applications.
  • Offline-first workflows with local SQLite, council MBTiles and spatial overlays.
  • BLE or internal GNSS, RTK workflows, camera capture and geotagged field evidence.
  • Background photo and data uploads with retry behaviour and signed upload URLs.
  • Production APIs, PostgreSQL batch processing, authentication and organisation access.
  • Sentry and infrastructure diagnostics for real production issues.
  • Enterprise Android rollout through Microsoft Intune and managed Google Play.
  • Testing, field deployment, user feedback and rapid support when conditions expose edge cases.

Wider platform

Field evidence becomes operational decisions.

01 · Field captureInspections, GPS, imagery and condition observations
02 · Resilient syncLocal persistence, background upload and retry
03 · RACAS HubMaps, imagery, review and historical context
04 · Engineering usePlanning, disaster evidence, valuation and maintenance priorities

The wider RACAS platform has documented deployments across road networks, footpaths, trails and remote national parks. Those platform outcomes provide context for my contribution without implying I personally delivered every project.
